Purple needs to make a return to the NHL. The LA Kings might do that with their upcoming rebrand. The Columbus Blue Jackets, Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Winnipeg Jets all had jerseys during the 2023-24 season with blue on blue or black and blue. The Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers are the only other team in the NHL that had diagonal wordmark logos on their jerseys for the 2023-24 season. The official names for the Utah Hockey Club colors are Rock Black, Salt White, and Mountain Blue. I do like the idea of calling it Moron Blue. Some fans are upset as the Arizona Coyotes brand was one of the best in all of sports and replacing it is a brand that is not even fully thought out yet. There have also been comparisons of the Utah Hockey Club to the Winnipeg Ice of the WHL. I think the owner is or was a Penguins fan. The Utah Jazz changed their colors to black and yellow before changing again, and not the Utah Hockey Club brand has a lot of similarities with the Pittsburgh Penguins original branding. It seems like the fans in Utah are excited.
