A lot of the other names fell a bit short for me, although I’m sure they could be turned into good team names with some solid marketing effortcan you wear a hockey jersey with shorts. A few of the name options felt derivative of existing names in the NHL. For example, the Black Diamonds feels oddly similar to the naming style of the existing team names Blackhawks, Red Wings, and Golden Knightsutah hockey club roster google. And a few of the names felt like they were trying too hard to sound “cold and tough” like Squall, Blizzard, Frost, Freeze, Blast, and Glaciers (which also happen to be slow moving sheets of ice). Finally, some of the names would be challenging to use colloquially in chants and other team rallying cries like Caribou, Canyons, Mammoth, and Mountaineers.
